Dr. Robert Kruse, who has practiced orthopaedic surgery in Denver since 1974, specializes in total hip and knee replacements, utilizing the new minimal incision techniques including the new resurfacing hip technique.
Dr. Kruse graduated from Cornell College and attended medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. His residency training was done at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where he did advanced research in fracture healing.
He had special training at the Mayo Clinic as joint replacements became a full-fledged specialty and advanced from the late 1960s to the present. He has a Masters Degree in Orthopaedic Sciences from the University of Minnesota/Mayo Clinic.
After his orthopaedic training, Dr. Kruse spent two years in military service during the Vietnam era as an orthopaedic surgeon.
Dr. Kruse is on staff at Swedish Medical Center and Porter Adventist Hospital. He has spent time at the University of Colorado Medical Center and at Denver Health Medical Center as a clinical associate with orthopaedic residents in training.
Board certified in orthopaedic surgery, Dr. Kruse is a past president of the Arapahoe Medical Society, and has held office and been on the board of the Colorado Medical Society.
