Orthopaedic Physicians of Colorado (OPC) diagnoses and treats diseases of and injuries to the bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and nerves. Our orthopaedic physicians and surgeons provide a wide range of medical care, including treatment of sports and work injuries, arthroscopy, fracture/trauma care, knee replacement, hip replacement, spine surgery, foot and ankle care, and deformity correction. Orthopaedic or Orthopedic?The word "orthopaedic" comes from Greek words for "straight" (ortho) and child (pais). Think back to the days when orthopaedic physicians prescribed leg braces to make a child's legs "straight." Today the spelling is sometimes simplified — you'll see both "orthopedics" and "orthopedic surgeon" in addition to the traditional spelling.
